Expansion of the San Jacinto (Bolívar), Cereté and Nueva Montería (Córdoba) substations

Bogotá  Mar 12, 2021

At HMV Ingenieros we successfully carried out the design, supply, assembly and commissioning of the control and protection system for the extensions to the AFINIA SEs in San Jacinto, Bolívar; Cereté, Córdoba and Nueva Montería, Córdoba; the latter awaiting its commissioning in June 2021. The project was carried out with the purpose of strengthening the infrastructure of the regional transmission electric system (STR) and the local distribution system (SDL) in the Caribbean area.

This project was carried out under the secondary EPCs business model, but also had the participation of areas such as the Panel Assembly Workshop, Protection Area, Secondary Engineering, the Digital Solutions Business Unit or A&C, and the HMV commissioning and testing group. During its execution, approximately 20 thousand man-hours were employed, in tasks of design, configuration and testing, assembly and commissioning of the control and protection systems in the SEs previously indicated.

Despite the great challenges such as the pandemic and the change from ELECTRICARIBE to Caribe Mar (AFINIA EPM group), HMV managed to meet the schedules on time, generating more capacity of the electrical system to support more users connected in the local and regional system, and impacting the areas of influence.
At HMV Ingenieros we continue to promote development.
