Monterio Power Plant was a turnkey project developed by HMV Engineers, Cat International Power Systems and SEG / AvK, for Monterio Power Corporation Limited, in Azua de Compostella, Dominican Republic.
It is a 101.5 MW power generation plant made up of 13 Caterpillar® Model 9CM43 HFO fuel engines and 13 9,758 kVA, 13.8 kV, 60 Hertz generators and a 138 kV electrical substation with SCADA monitoring and control system.
HMV carried out the detailed engineering, purchasing, and construction of the civil, electrical, and mechanical works for the powerhouse, chimneys, radiators, steam system, 138 kV electrical substation, urban planning, buildings, and other required infrastructure works. He also carried out the assembly, connection and commissioning of the Plant.
Main works:
Civil works: Piloting, earthworks, tracks, concrete bases for engines, powerhouse, fuel treatment house, auxiliary rooms, administration building, guest building, building for the substation and perimeter wall.
Mechanical work: Carbon steel pipe for seven systems, metal structure for powerhouse, metal structure for chimneys, metal structure for radiators, metal structure for elements of the substation, insulation of pipes and chimneys, construction of nine steel process tanks, and fire fighting system for the entire site.
Electrical work: Wiring, control room, MV panel room, and complete 210 MVA, 138 kV substation composed of three transformation fields (generation), two line fields and one coupling field.
