    All families have a history and ours is special. We are the sum of two large companies that joined their trajectories to together move forward, Mejía Villegas de Medellín and Hidroestudios de Bogotá. On November 16, 1960, Hidroestrudios was born, the engineers Julio Escobar, Ernesto Carrizosa, Carlos Tamayo and Hernando Duran, met in a cafe and decided to consolidate a company dedicated to the design of Hydroelectric Power Plants. The first employee was Carlos Angulo Galvis, whose contract was made by hand and who was later rector of the University of Los Andes in Bogotá.

    Hidroestudios started the Plan Bogotá project, an integral plan with the conceptualization of the engineering designs and subsequently participated in the expansion of the aqueduct and sewerage system of Bogotá, called "Camp Dresser Plan" by the name of the associated company, Camp Dresser Mckee.
